Patience, persistence, and tolerance are probably among the prime virtues of us. But as we are moving towards a more technologically advanced age, these values are somewhat diminishing. Let me first start with a story, and then I will link this with astrology and spirituality.
Once upon a time, Gautam Buddha was passing through a village. Suddenly some people surrounded him and started cursing and accusing him. Buddha didn't pay attention to what people were saying. Finally, when people were tired of abusing him, he politely asked, " If you feel satisfied, shall I continue my journey?"
People who were abusing him were surprised at listening to this because of Buddha's patience, persistence, and tolerance. They asked him, "We have abused you so much, why don't to get angry on us?". Buddha smiled and said that you abused me, but I didn't take it. He further said that when I was coming from another village, people gave me sweets, but I didn't take those either. Then Buddha asked people that if someone gives you something and you don't take it, then what happens to the thing. People replied that then the thing stays with us only. Then Gautam Buddha explained that similarly if I didn't take those curse, it stayed with you only. You will take those back to your home. It made people realize the power of knowledge. They all became disciples of Buddha.
Though this story might sound a bit cliche, this has a lot of relevance in today's context. Everywhere you will find people who want to abuse you, who want to show you down, who want to embarrass you etc, for their small gains. It happens at the workplace, in schools, businesses, the outside world, and even some time in families. Everyone is running an endless race. We need to apply Budhha's way of dealing the things. Neither attaches oneself with success ( the sweets), nor with the failures and downfalls ( abuses).
One needs to develop persistence, patience, and tolerance. These exactly are a Saturnian way of living life. We never really understand the importance of Saturn in our lives. Even those who understand it, they are always behind quick remedies. They never realize that Saturn is not fast, its slow. Saturn demands these qualities of patience, persistence, and tolerance. Saturn is the significator of Karma, and so is of diseases and death. We need to work on correcting the basics and develop these Saturn related qualities in really doing good in life. Some of the best ways of developing these qualities are meditation, yoga, and breathing exercises.
Slow and steady probably still works in this era as well and may win us the race. Let me know what you think. Keep reading. Stay happy!!
