How to know what is dominant in your body composition?


Have you ever wondered why different people have different body compositions? Some people are very energetic, fast-moving and restless whereas there are some lazy people. Some people can eat anything without getting any fat and some people even if smell food gains a lot of weight. As per Ayurveda, there are Three Doshas in every person: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These Doshas are biological energies found throughout the human body and mind. Three Doshas are formed by five eternal elements.

Vata is composed of Space and Air, Pitta is composed of Fire and Water, and Kapha is composed of Water and Earth. Hence naturally, fiery signs such as Aries, Leo, Sagittarius are Pitta dominant. Since Mars, which is a fiery planet, is the owner of Scorpio, so Scorpio is also Pitta dominant. Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius are Vata dominants either because of Air element or due to their lords Mercury and Saturn respectively. Remaining watery sign Cancer and Pisces and the earthy sign: Taurus represents Kapha's dominant people.


From an Astrological perspective, Ascendant and ascendant lord plays a critical role in determining the constitution of a person. For example, for an Aries ascendant person, if Lord Mars is in Leo or Sagittarius, the person will be very Pitta dominant. The person will have a very energetic, fiery personality and maybe oily skin.


Another aspect to look at is the planet sitting in Lagna. For example, if a person has Jupiter in Lagna, the person might be Kapha dominant and might gain weight. Kapha also gives imagination. A Kapha dominant person is very imaginative and has a solid temperament.


A Gemini Lagna person with Mercury in either Libra, Gemini, Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius might have a dominant Vata. These types of people are usually quick, thin, quick thinkers, and a fast mover. But unless other elements are properly balanced, they might only involve airy abstraction.


Ideally, we should have a balance of all three Doshas to lead a healthy life. Diet plays a vital role in bringing this balance.
