Akshay Tritiya: A day to celebrate each year

Ever since childhood, I was told that Akshay Tritiya is an auspicious day. But I could never really understood why it is so? All I knew was that people mostly prefer to buy gold or precious ornament this day.

You must be wondering, what exactly happens on Akshay Tritiya and why it is considered one of the most auspicious days of the year? On this very day, Sun and Moon, two of the most important celestial bodies which govern our lives are in their exaltation signs together.

In a very simple way, we can understand that two of the life-giving forces are in their most happy state at this very day, every year. And hence they bestow a lot of blessings on all of us.

It is said that whatever you do on this very day, will come back to you multi-fold in this life and beyond. And hence ideally we should do good Karma ( e.g. donate in our capacity) this day to strengthen our Soul ( Sun) and Mind ( Moon). And Universe will bless us with its divine boon.
